Job Description Summary The Planner-Buyer is responsible for placing purchase orders, expediting and following up with vendors to ensure that materials are delivered on time, in order to fulfill production requirements to meet finished goods delivery performance goals, working alongside planning, inventory management and other internal departments.

General Responsibilities Manage purchase orders to ensure timely flow of material keeping correct inventory levels and execute action messages from MRP to pull in, push out and cancel orders due to production plan variation. Follows up on raw material shipments for dispatch from the vendors to ensure on time delivery at the plant. Monitor and report key performance metrics, including PO’s placed on time, past due po’s, receiving discrepancies, invoice’s discrepancies and MRB inventory. Collaborates with the supply chain manager regarding maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis to prevent shortages and maximize turns. Experience / Qualifications A university degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards Knowledge of ERP /MRP systems and logic, JDE/Oracle experience is desirable Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
