Descripción y detalle de las actividades

• Schedule and prioritize the tooling workload and personnel to meet production demands • Recommend, implement, and determine the effectiveness of changes of tooling • Review various production and operating reports for resolution of tool-related issues • Review and evaluate effectiveness of all tooling work orders that are written • Modify work orders as necessary and close work orders when work is complete • Build a fully capable tool room in Tijuana facility • Recommend and provide rationalization for capital purchases of tool room equipment • Maintain the equipment in the tooling department. • Schedule and track preventive maintenance on molds. •Determine the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance and adjust as required. •Analyze mold repair histories to implement cost-effective improvements to molds. •Attend mold design meetings and mold trials. •Work with molding department to get a mold running to its optimal capability • Troubleshoot mold problems at the molding presses. • Participate in the planning and start-up of each new tool, and the milestone meetings as the tool is brought into production. • Adhere to and enforce all applicable safety procedures and company policies. • Develop, maintain and enforce the company standard mold specifications. • Oversee all department purchasing. • Ensure that an adequate inventory of supplies and spare parts is maintained. • Participate in the formulation of the annual budget and business plan. • Monitor tooling department’s expenses and operating costs to ensure attainment of the business plan. • Recommend department changes in staffing as required. • Monitor the performance and progress of all tooling personnel. • Conduct performance reviews per company policy. • In conjunction with Purchasing, manage tooling outsource suppliers. Experiencia y requisitos

• College Degree or successful completion of a mold making apprenticeship or combination of education. • A minimum of 10 years of injection molding mold making experience. • Bilingual in Spanish and English • Complete set of toolmaker skills (milling, lathe, precision grinding, polishing, and fitting). • Strong management, leadership and communications skills are required. • Strong injection molding background related to product and tool design. • CAD/Cam knowledge strongly preferred. • EDM experience preferred. • Ability to write basic reports and business correspondence. • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers. • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. • Ability to effectively organize and plan daily activities and special projects. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. *****Send you cv to leobardo.lopez@tecma.com*****
